First of all the price through MyCameras 2006 was simply incredible, and although being shipped from Malaysia, arrived in 4 days from order. I had some confusion and worry about it being a PAL model (as it was shipped with a USA lead), however a £3 adapator solved the issue and I have a PAL UK spec 'All singing, All Dancing' Prosumer Camcorder.
After many hours of playing around with it, I have to say that it is incredibly good quality video, the anti-shake works a treat even with the zoom extended (my Sony could never cope with that). The camera is surprisingly comfortable and easy to use considering that it is larger than the GS400 that I was originally about to buy. The £100 or so extra for this one is worth it considering the extended zoom range (12x versus 10x) and given the Pro-Cinema function to make really first class video.
The only negative is that the quality of the Still pictures is frankly appalling given the 4 mega pixels stated. The quality drops to 3 million pixels with widescreen photos making them even poorer. The photos are blurry, unfocussed and grainy. However, I use another camera for dedicated stills so this is a disappointment, not a tragedy.
In summary, a great camera, excellent service and sensational price from MyCameras 2006. Well done!" |
